On February 23, Engineers Going Global and the Engineering Student Council co-sponsored an event that sparked the creativity of the UVA students. The Sustainability Design Challenge brought together alumni, entrepreneurs and engineering students to create projects for a future co-housing community that will be build in Charlottesville, the Ecovillage. The students were tasked with coming up with innovative and sustainable ideas to be implemented at the community center, a place where the residents would spend time with each other, meditate and cook their food. The teams came up with great presentations and innovative ideas in under 2 hours and, as a consequence, the judges decided to award two winning teams for their efforts!
