Congratulations to the Charlottesville Village of Veterans (C-ViVe) project team for being awarded the prestigious Jefferson Public Citizens Grant! Formed in 2016, the C-ViVe team is a multidisciplinary project team focused on designing a housing community for veterans and their families in the Charlottesville-Albemarle area. Their approach involves creating preliminary architectural drawings, gathering veteran input on the project through a comprehensive surveys and focus groups, and forming the foundation of the community to provide for a sustainable future for our nation's' heroes.

The team is led by Drew Boland, a Third Year Civil Engineering major who is also a member of the Executive Board. The other members of the team are Jordan Richardson, a Third Year Architecture student, Kirby Cheng, a graduate student in the Architecture School, and Stephanie Yusif, a Civil Engineering and Architecture double major.

The C-ViVe team will use the awarded funds to send out their survey to members of the veteran community across Virginia and will also conduct focus groups. They will use the resulting data to better design the community for the needs and opinions of the veterans that will live there.
